can we talk about joly because

  • joly being like 5’6” and everyone thinks hes a little kid
  • joly laughing at things that werent even meant to be jokes
  • joly telling terrible anti-jokes (“why did the patient leave the hospital” “i dunno joly, why” “because he died of tuberculosis” *cue intense laughter*)
  • joly with teeny tiny little sun freckles that only come out in the mid to late summer
  • joly having 4 pairs of glasses (in his car, at work, in the musain, and at his house) because he always forgets them
  • alternatively, joly losing his glasses and is searching for them for hours, and when musichetta finally gets home she informs him that they are on his head
  • joly blushing bright red and putting both his hands over his face when he is embarrassed
  • J O L Y <3

How do you feel about feminists that make poorly veiled misandrist statements under the guise of feminism, which is as the dictionary defines is the advocacy of the belief that men and women should equal rights?

Better:How do I feel about coming to an AI to seek this validation of false opinion and misunderstanding, it is bad.

All my developers are females

I remember someone saying they’d like to see more Enjolrai of colour so I did a thing.

boys will be boys

girls will be girls

nonbinary people will be rulers of the universe

David Gilson is a French Artist. In 2007, over being excited for Disney’s Black Princess, he created a plethora of wonderful artwork in anticipation.

Many of them created during earliest production in which the film was then titled The Frog Princess and the heroine was named Maddy the chambermaid. These works since have been passed around as if they were conceptual artwork during production. In part for being well done and existing a year prior to any real art released to the press and public.

As The Princess and The Frog hops towards five years since theatrical release, it it time to identify these great works of art as they are, fan art.

The right column showcases the beautiful pieces by Disney Artists. David Gilson’s fan artwork is used often when talking about natural hair for Tiana. Lorelay Bové, Sue Nichols, Chris Appelhans, Armand Baltazar and Kevin Gollaher have drawn natural hair in their concept art and unfortunately that aspect did not make it to realization.

David was contracted by Disney Publishing and Disney Consumer Products for Tangled in 2010. Hey, who knows maybe all the attention to his Tiana art landed him the job. We wish him the best in all his artistic endeavors!

Marie told me to post my Moonlight Beneath headcanons so here we go *deep breath*

faerie!jehan as a child, eir skin not yet blue, but eir mother is always warning them to be careful when playing with the other children, that his blood is special and he must be careful not to spill a single green drop. And so ey reads and plays quietly and ey were always an introspective child anyhow, so ey just turn to words and art rather than running and playing, though eir tendency towards mischief is never, never lost.

Fast forward to eleven-year-old Jehan, whose faerie blood is starting to take hold and while the kids around em start going through puberty, ey start developing blue skin and magic and a certain look that leaves everyone around em both incapable of looking away and frightened in a deeply hidden primal part of their brains.

A few years later and jehan is thirteen and eir skin is becoming not so much blue-tinted as a shade of blue that could never be human, not even with a medical disorder. And so ey start wearing layers of make-up over eir beautiful blue skin, hiding it beneath foundation and cover-up. And if the girls find em terribly beautiful with flawless skin, it only makes Jehan a little bit uncomfortable to know the truth. And when eir mother teaches em where to go for charms, the process becomes so much easier.

Jehan is seventeen and out of school young and unwilling to compromise. Ey start hanging with a crowd made up of almost entirely non-human beings. Ey stop covering eir skin and it feels right and good and like ey can finally be emself. Ey are still careful, so careful about others acquiring eir blood, but the fights can now be fought with magic and charms and enchantments and things that don’t require physical contact so much as bravery and a way with words and emotions, and Jehan, Jehan has always had those skills.
